ABOUT US

SPECTRUM focuses on providing educational, awareness raising and community building programmes for Derby and Derbyshire Communities, especially for those from low income areas, those marginalised in mainstream provision and those affected by Hate Crime and discrimination. It is our goal to create a common community space, cohesion building events and activities, a citizenship, health, community and human rights education programme, which will have a direct and positive effect on relations between different groups, hate crime, bullying and discrimination and help to build a community identity based on respect for human rights and increased understanding of different members of society.  Wellness and collective well-being are central to what we do and how we do it.

Our Logo

The colour of the SpectrumD logo represents a deconstructed rainbow, and as such reflects the spectrum of diversity within society. The figure carrying the sphere (the symbol of continuity, evolution etc) demonstrate the connection between the resilience and unlimited potential of human endeavour in effecting and sustaining change. The tagline Participate, Connect and Transform is indicative of Spectrum's main aims and objectives
